Some of you who have me in Bnet might have noticed my increased visits in Azeroth. Yes, I have been bitten by the famous WoWbug. I am trying to get back to playing again (all tho I miss my dragon lady a lot!), maybe even raiding. Well raiding depends more …
I finally managed to copy my characters to PTR, I’ve wanted to see how my own characters would look with the nice new models. I have to say I was little bit disappointed, some of the faces that are suppose to be “match” for the original ones, look completely different (as you may notice with my gnome warlock).
Feels like sometimes the designers didn’t even look/remember the old face when they redesigned them (notice here I do not know how it works just sharing my opinions). There are currently 4 races that I’m completely happy with and those are (all females as I don’t own any male chars) Tauren, Orc, Undead, Troll and Paladin (noticed the pattern here? In my opinion the Horde races look much better and more elaborate).
As I’ve studied with all the faces and looks I have only one thing in my mind, if this is the result of redesigning I wish they don’t touch the Worgens. Also don’t get me wrong here, I appreciate how much time they have put into this and some of the faces don’t look too bad but I think some of them could have been better, a lot better.
But here are few comparison pictures I put together, if I wasn’t happy with the face I searched for the alternative that I wish to use.
Let’s start with the Draeneis, I was surprised how pretty my hunter looks (as I loaded my Monk before it)
But I couldn’t help to notice that most of the Draenei faces look like they’re trying to do “duckface” imitation.
My Monk, I only took the picture to show how much the original face changed. What happened to the pretty Draenei eyes? and the face became “chubby” suddenly. But I do love how they fixed the shoulders!! Now they don’t look like they’re falling off!!
My tiny Dwarf! The Dwarf model looks so much better now! It didn’t look too bad to start with but oh my it’s so good now. Reason I didn’t use the original face on the new model is because I thought this one looked bit better. Then my Gnome.. I don’t know where to begin. Well positive thing is that the new hairs look nice (on all races) but can you see how much different the new one (middle) is to the old, it looks like grumpy cat now and I absolutely loved that face before. I loved the soft brown eyes but I probably have to go with the right face model as it looks less grumpy. I also think that the eyes are bit too big. This is my Worgen Druids Human form (which I never use as I love being a Worgen) but it looks really nice, I like how the new Human model looks. Night Elves, my first love on Alliance side. They look really good BUT the different face options are quite limited, I found only 1 face I was happy with. Then to my new old love, my second character. My fierce Orc lady! I absolutely LOVE the Orc model, they look so good!! I love the expressions so much! I’ve always loved how Taurens look, but with the new models they look amazing! The middle one is the original face, but I think I’m gonna go that one with the markings since they make it look fierce! Here is one extra picture of how I would make my Gnome Warlock look as Undead (she was Undead at start so I might go back to my roots with her :P)
Reason this post is sooo late and why I posted ‘Notable Paladin’ post before this was that since the Monk class is quite new there is not much (at least I can’t find) written lore and info about the famous Monks. Took me a while but now I have few candidates so I’m safe for a little while 🙂
She is Master follower of Tushui Pandaren (Alliance side), they believe living respected life through meditation, thorough meditation and moral conviction. She attained impeccable form and a refined intellect through constant practice.
To Aysa, to follow the way of Tushui is to defend what is right above all else. She believes that success in any task never justifies dishonorable deeds. Alliance contains great deal of mixed cultures, she is attracted to the high ideals and values that cement the Alliance together.
In game the first encounter with her is on Fu’s Pond, Wandering Isle, where she trains atop a lily pad. She is also one of the most promising student of Master Shang Xi.
She took part in the Siege of Orgrimmar, hoping that she can rescue Ji Firepaw from carnage. Ji was beaten unconscious by the Kor’kron and was slated for execution, she helped fight off the orcs and rescued him from his predicament. Begging him to live, she promised that the two of them could return to the turtle and be together. (In raid if you wait too long to save him the Kor’kron will execute him and Aysa will charge them for revenge and will be killed too. I love Blizzard’s story writing <3)
As some of you might have noticed I had a ‘theme’ while I was doing Lae’s (from World of Lae) Alt Appreciation challenge. I wrote about classes that you might know or you should know. I’ve been thinking a lot of adding it as a real theme for my blog and since it’s new year and all, here it is 🙂
Starting next week, I will be introducing a few people of importance to the current class of the week.
Sadly I haven’t had time for my Monk that much on this week (well to be honest I’ve kind of avoided my Monk). Just because it is so new to me and the goals I set for myself. BUT I did manage to buy second spec, but down keybinds and I actually have Mistweaver gear so I did something atleast 🙂 But now when I tried it, fixing keybinds and stuff, I actually want to try it now so maybe I’ll find time for my new healer on next week even tho it’s #PaladinWeek. I also remembered that I still have my leveling transmog and I started to like it bit more again 🙂
#MonkWeek started today, I have one, I got her to 90 some time ago and there she’s been sitting on my character list ever since 😀 I don’t really play melee classes that much (except Guardian Druid and Prot Paladin) but Monk was something different it was fun. So for this week I’ll try to get her some new gear from Timeless Isle and LFR 🙂 Maybe I’ll even try to collect Mistweaver gear and try it out 🙂
I think this could be nice add for Alt appreciation theme. Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a free name you want to use preferable unique 😛 For myself I have to say that I’m not the most creative type, but I always try to find unique-ish name or just a different variation of something funny or something I like or just being boring and using food or dessert So I thought that I share my character names with you again (Firstly I have listed them in my 30 days of World of Warcraft: Day 26 ) and tell how I came up with them 🙂
Rinike – 90 level Druid (my main) – This one I created when I was thinking to start this blog, I wanted something unique and it is anagram of my middle name. Éllih – 90 level Priest – My nick name is Elli and I tried every different variations of it and ended up with this. Shenyer – 90 level Shaman – I was able to be bit more creative and I was just pressing different letter combinations. What I didn’t know that now when I googled it, it’s a last name 😀 Pizzelle – 90 level Hunter – My Hunter is named after one of character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, she has 3 cookies(2 of them are whole and one with bite taken out of) as a cutie mark 🙂 It is also traditional Italian waffle (which I learned few days ago :P) singular is Pizzella Kérmavaahto – 90 level Paladin – This one is simply whipped cream in Finnish with apostrophe above e Naldyn – 90 level Monk – I came up with this name also by bashing my keyboard 😛 Smartíe – 86 level Mage – I was eating smarties when I created my mage Raritý – 70 level Rogue – Rarity is one of the main ponies in My Little Pony Pixié – 70 level Warrior – I like fairies Melune – 80 level Death Knight – I was doodling names and different spellings in my head when I was creating her Ríncewind – 90 level Warlock – Every book lover must know where the name is from 😉 <3 He is a really funny wizard in Discworld novels written by Terry Pratchett Mantelí – 85 level Paladin – Almond in Finnish Sacura – 82 level Hunter – She is a character in Naruto and if it’s written with k instead of c it’s a cherry blossom tree Mynia – 47 level Priest – I don’t have any memories how I came up with this name, but probably doodling with different combinations again. The name was firstly on my main other priest (alliance) and I sometimes like to use them again in another server. Chíli – 55 level Druid – It’s a spicy fruit 😛 My Warlock was named as Darna (she was my first ever char), and as again I was hitting buttons and came up with that and afterwards I noticed the similarity with Darnassus 😛 (at start I didn’t even know about the awesome Elf city <3 Hope you enjoyed my babble again ^^
I got my monk to 90 on Monday and been thinking since what transmog I wanted, I spent hours searching on MogIt what I would love to have and then I came up 3 different ones.
It was really hard to pick between them but I decided to go with this one. I like the leggings so much, I wish there would be “hide belt” option sometimes, since these ones has really awesome skull just under the belt.
