On my last post about Legion prelaunch patch I was talking about all awesome things we already got. Now with just some hours prior to the launch in EU, I remembered something I noticed when the prelaunch patch hit. I was doing some last minute leveling and taking advantage of …
Some of you who have me in Bnet might have noticed my increased visits in Azeroth. Yes, I have been bitten by the famous WoWbug. I am trying to get back to playing again (all tho I miss my dragon lady a lot!), maybe even raiding. Well raiding depends more …
I finally managed to copy my characters to PTR, I’ve wanted to see how my own characters would look with the nice new models. I have to say I was little bit disappointed, some of the faces that are suppose to be “match” for the original ones, look completely different (as you may notice with my gnome warlock).
Feels like sometimes the designers didn’t even look/remember the old face when they redesigned them (notice here I do not know how it works just sharing my opinions). There are currently 4 races that I’m completely happy with and those are (all females as I don’t own any male chars) Tauren, Orc, Undead, Troll and Paladin (noticed the pattern here? In my opinion the Horde races look much better and more elaborate).
As I’ve studied with all the faces and looks I have only one thing in my mind, if this is the result of redesigning I wish they don’t touch the Worgens. Also don’t get me wrong here, I appreciate how much time they have put into this and some of the faces don’t look too bad but I think some of them could have been better, a lot better.
But here are few comparison pictures I put together, if I wasn’t happy with the face I searched for the alternative that I wish to use.
Let’s start with the Draeneis, I was surprised how pretty my hunter looks (as I loaded my Monk before it)
But I couldn’t help to notice that most of the Draenei faces look like they’re trying to do “duckface” imitation.
My Monk, I only took the picture to show how much the original face changed. What happened to the pretty Draenei eyes? and the face became “chubby” suddenly. But I do love how they fixed the shoulders!! Now they don’t look like they’re falling off!!
My tiny Dwarf! The Dwarf model looks so much better now! It didn’t look too bad to start with but oh my it’s so good now. Reason I didn’t use the original face on the new model is because I thought this one looked bit better. Then my Gnome.. I don’t know where to begin. Well positive thing is that the new hairs look nice (on all races) but can you see how much different the new one (middle) is to the old, it looks like grumpy cat now and I absolutely loved that face before. I loved the soft brown eyes but I probably have to go with the right face model as it looks less grumpy. I also think that the eyes are bit too big. This is my Worgen Druids Human form (which I never use as I love being a Worgen) but it looks really nice, I like how the new Human model looks. Night Elves, my first love on Alliance side. They look really good BUT the different face options are quite limited, I found only 1 face I was happy with. Then to my new old love, my second character. My fierce Orc lady! I absolutely LOVE the Orc model, they look so good!! I love the expressions so much! I’ve always loved how Taurens look, but with the new models they look amazing! The middle one is the original face, but I think I’m gonna go that one with the markings since they make it look fierce! Here is one extra picture of how I would make my Gnome Warlock look as Undead (she was Undead at start so I might go back to my roots with her :P)
Last Friday we went to do some achievements from Firelands, didn’t manage to do all the missing ones (damn you Alysrazor and kneel to the flame achies!!)
I was jumping on and off on my Druid / Hunter because some achievements I already had and I really love the Hunter tier from Firelands, looks badass! 😛 So I kind of forgot to take cool screenshots from the trash etc since people were clearing them while I was logging back and forth.
As always our pink haired gnome recorded our fights so you can see it here!
Remember you can always contact me or Chro if you want to join on our runs, reminder tho that we’re not those runs that just loot and move to next boss. A lot of the time we do think tactics (yes it’s not always necessary) so having TeamSpeak is huge plus (so you don’t feel left out or just blinded since you don’t know what we’re planning – we do info people what to do etc but it’s more fun in TS let’s just say it like that ^^)
So I’ve had this thing that I name my noncombat pets and Hunter pets with something “famous” like Disney characters or something like that. I was fooling around with my Hunter last night and I have this white wolf as a pet (been with me for ages! 😀 <3) and it’s been named after Jack London’s book, White Fang or (I sometimes like changing it) Hopeanuoli (which my Finnish readers understand, it’s Finnish name for Gin, from Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin (quite old anime ^^). But back to the topic, so I had this idea to change my wolfies name to “Ghost” (Jon Snow’s direwolf in Game of Thrones) and make female version of Jon Snow’s clothing! 😀 I think I made it work quite well with Hunter’s mail gear! BUT best of all I had another idea that why not to make Ygritte transmog too since she is the one who actually uses bows 🙂 Her transmog was bit more difficult to work with and think around 😀
But all and all I’m really happy how they worked out, now I just need to start farming! 😀
Last Friday I felt bit “under the weather” but I decided to join on our weekly FunRun. Plan was to go Bastion of Twilight, and as always with my loot luck I’m still missing the murloc helm from my Hunters transmog. The FunRun group continued to Onyxia and Eye of Eternity. We also have forums now, you can look it up here. You need to get @Chromeeh_Gnome a message so he can activate your account 🙂 You can see the video Chro made if you click here.
But here are some pictures from the Bastion of Twilight!
She is the eldest of the Windrunner sisters (sisters Sylvanas and Vereesa Windrunner). They also have three brothers, one named Lirath Windrunner (not much of information about the other two). She had a necklace she got from her parents, eleganlt piece containing a ruby and a sapphire. Alleria Windrunner first earned renown due to the sheer number of trolls that she slew in order to defend her people’s homeland, Quel’Thalas, during the Troll Wars. With the help of humanity, the high elves ultimately prevailed against the trolls. She is also known to weild a sword with great skill.
She is a excellent forest fighter and she prefers solitude and travels with others only if have to. Alleria speaks infrequently and only in short sentences. She shows passion only where orcs are concerned, hunting them ruthlessly and without mercy. In battle she travels in forests whenever possible and prefers to strike from hiding – especially when attacking orcs, who she believes have no honor and therefore can be killed in any way she sees fit. If she is forced into melee fight she swings her bow as a quarterstaff. She has no other weapon only the bow she got from her father
She is an elven ranger who fought throughout the Third War. She is the youngest of Windrunner sisters, widow of Rhonin Redhair and proud mother of twinsons, Giramar and Galadin. Almost all of her extended family were killed by orcs in the Second War and in Prince Arthas’s invasion of Quel’Thalas. Both of her sisters can be considered “alive” because Sylvanas still lives, even tho she is not technically “among the living”, and Alleria is likely still alive, but her whereabouts are not known.
She leads the Silver Covenant, a militant core of high elves that rejected the admission of Blood Elves into the Kirin Tor and have took it upon themselves to serve as a military deterrent for any potential Horde uprising. She styles herself as the “Ranger General of the Silver Covenant”.
As some of you might have noticed I had a ‘theme’ while I was doing Lae’s (from World of Lae) Alt Appreciation challenge. I wrote about classes that you might know or you should know. I’ve been thinking a lot of adding it as a real theme for my blog and since it’s new year and all, here it is 🙂
Starting next week, I will be introducing a few people of importance to the current class of the week.
The shadow hunter Vol’jin, son of Sen’jin, is Chieftain of the Darkspear tribe and rightful ruler of the Echo Isles.
He has sworn to do everything in his power to lead the Darkspear tribe just as his late father, Sen’jin, would have. For years he resided in Orgrimmar, offering strategic advice to Thrall and assisting with critical operations such as retaking the Undercity after the Forsaken bastion had been unsurped by Grand Apothecary Putress and the dreadlord Varimathras.
Recently, however Vol’jin has came into conflict with Horde’s new warchief, Garros Hellscream. Alienated by the orc’s extremism and lust for war the troll elader has departed Orgrimmar and taken up residence on Darkspear Isle.
With the war between Alliance and Horde coming to the shores of Pandaria, Vol’jin has become a bitter enemy of Garrosh. After surviving an assasination attempt by one of Hellscream’s Kor’kron, Vol’jin has gone into hiding.
With Garrosh’s defeat and capture, he assumed the mantle of Warchief of the Horde, with the personal support of Thrall and the remainder of the Horde’s leadership. Vol’jin is the first non-orc to earn the title.
Halduron serverd under the Alliance of Lordaeron during the second War against Horde. Before the Third, Sylvanas Windrunner was the Ranger-General of Silvermoon, the highest authority amongst the Farstriders. With her death, a void was left, leaving the high elven rangers without a leader. The Farstriders soon chose Halduron Brightwing as the new leader. As he was a great ranger, he was promoted to Ranger-General of Silvermoon, and rules the rangers to this day. At the same time he was promoted , his commanding officer, Lor’themar Theron, was made Regent Lord of Quel’Thalas. Like, Lor’themar, Halduron played a crucial role in protecting Quel’Thalas from the Scourge during the re-founding of Silvermoon City and is privy to the true identity of Anveena.
~ The tabard MUST be included. (I think this is implied, but you never know )
~ The set MUST be transmoggable. No full plate then cloth head, for example.
~ The items used MUST exist in-game! Please don’t use items that were either removed or their model is in the game files but doesn’t actually exist in-game.
~ Do NOT post incomplete sets! While things like wrists aren’t visible and can be excluded, please don’t send a set without shoulders or boots for example.
~ The weapons MUST correspond with the class! Please don’t send me a priest with a polearm.
~ You MUST attach a list of the items! If I love your idea and would want to transmog it, I’ll need the items!
~ Do NOT post someone elses idea. While similarities may occur, after all there are so many items in-game, please try to be original and don’t copy others.
~ Stick to the deadline! I won’t accept entries past my deadline, so don’t send. It wouldn’t be fair.
Also you were able to use MogIt addon, wowhead and wow modelviewer. I got inspiration of my shaman who is Panda nowdays. I’ve had so much fun playing and I haven’t had that many Mail transmogs in my blog. I also actually have this tabard since I changed from Draenei to Panda ;P
So here is what I came up 🙂 (Left side is with the tabard ^.^ and it’s also obtainable for both Shamans and Hunters)
